The Lancaster Bureau of Police has contracted with several other entities during the last 34 years for police coverage. Contracted services gives the Bureau of Police the extra manpower it needs to allow for more directed patrols and crime solving.

The DID programs strive to ensure that downtown Lancaster is safe, clean, attractive and vital.
Starting in 2003 the Lancaster Bureau of Police contracted service with F&M College for an additional police presence.
