Lancaster Township does not have its own police force. It has contracted with the Lancaster City Bureau of Police for this service since 1970. The Township receives excellent, round-the-clock protection with all of the benefits of a large city police force. There are twelve full-time officers assigned to Lancaster Township and they have become familiar figures in the community.
