Portion of Civil Service Examination
For the Position of
Police Officer
With the Lancaster City Bureau of Police

The ability portion of the Civil Service Examination for the position of
Police Officer with the Lancaster Bureau of Police will be held
on Date to be Announced in May 2009 at 0830 hours.
The written test will follow at
1400 hrs. The testing will be conducted at the Franklin & Marshall
College Alumni Sports and Fitness Complex.
The complex is to the rear of Doc Holiday’s Restaurant at
931 Harrisburg Pike. The ability test includes:
- 1.5 mile run
- 300 meter run
- Bench Press
- Sit Ups

If you are a U.S. Citizen, at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma (or equivalent)
and would like to take the test on the above date, please complete the enclosed Civil Service
Application and forward it to the Human Resources Office at the below address no later
than To Be Announced in May 2009. An application fee of $25.00 (check or money order only)
must accompany the completed Civil Service Application.
The following paper work MUST be returned by To Be Announced in May 2009:
- City of Lancaster Employment Application
- Application Fee ($25)
- Physical Ability Test Personal Injury Waiver
- Copy of a valid driver’s license
- Questionnaire
Call the Lancaster City Human Relations Office at (717) 291-4720 to request an application packet.
If all items are not returned you will not be eligible to take the police test.
