The Lancaster City Bureau of Police would like to announce that on Saturday December 14th, officers from Lancaster City as well as Manheim Boro, Northern Lancaster County Regional, West Earl, New Holland, East Lampeter, Manheim Township, Manor Township, West Hempfield and the Pennsylvania State Police will be participating in “Shop with a Cop.” Hosted by Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in downtown Lancaster City, “Shop with a Cop” is an opportunity for police officers to go Christmas shopping with children who have been impacted by the criminal justice system.
At 9:07 p.m. Nov. 23, 2013, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of S. Queen for a reported fight involving a handgun. Officers arrived and found Vernest Antonio Storr, 24-year-old male, resident of the 800 blk N. Duke St. Lancaster in possession of a concealed Springfield 9mm handgun. Officers initially observed a holster containing an ammo magazine on Storr's hip, then located the handgun concealed in Storr's jacket pocket. The handgun was found to have a loaded magazine with one bullet in the chamber. Storr did not have a concealed carry permit and was arrested. He was charged by Off. Ben Bradley with Carrying Firearms without License and Persons not to Possess Firearms (Storr has a prior felony trespass conviction) before MDJ Simms. No charges were filed pertaining to the fight. Storr was comitted to Lancaster County Prison.
On Friday, November 15, 2013 at approximately 4:11 AM patrol officers were dispatched for an indecent assault that occurred in the area of the 500 Blk. of East End Ave. Officers spoke with the 24-year-old female victim.
