This is from our Brother and Sisters at the Lancaster Bureau of Fire:Recently there was a complaint that someone has called a citizen in Landisville and saying they represent the Lancaster Fire Fighters and they are soliciting for a coupl...es dance to benefit the injured firefighters. They are asking for money over the phone, via credit card, and then they will send you the tickets. This is not true. We believe this to be a scam. We are however, in the middle of our fund drive, which we sell tickets for a magic show, but you will never be asked to give money over the phone. Here is a list of fundraisers for Lt Kelley and the firefighters injured at the Madison Street fire. April 18- Lancaster Barnstormers opening day. Tickets can be purchased online. April 28- Bands for Brothers concert featuring John Michael Montgomery at the Lancaster convention center. Tickets can be purchased at all Family Owned Markets or at www.wiov.com. Thank You, Executive BoardLancaster Professional Firefighters Association IAFF Local 319-As is the case in many tragic situations or disasters, there are parasites who will attempt to make a quick buck at the expense of someone else's suffering. If anyone has received a similar call where someone is attempting to get your personal or financial information over the phone, please think twice and don't succumb to the high pressure sales tactics. If you believe that you are a victim of this despicable act, please contact your local Police Department.
