6.28.12 Stabbing

June 28, 2012 at 3:19 a.m. Lancaster City Police responded to the area of Christian St. and Farnum St. for a reported stabbing. Officers located two victims, a 24-year-old male resident of Mountville and a 24-year-old female city resident. It was determined that the victims were stabbed during an altercation that occurred inside a residence in the 1st block of E. Vine St. Detectives are still investigating this incident, and at this time it appears that the suspects in this incident are two male subjects, and that this was not a random attack.

6.28.12 Trespassing at Brunswick

On June 28, 2012 at 12:56 a.m. Lancaster City Police officers responded to the Brunswick Hotel, 151 N. Queen St. for a report of trespassing. Employees of the Brunswick Hotel reported that some people had gained entry to a hotel room without permission and were causing a disturbance. Officers were directed to a 5th floor hotel room where they located 10 juveniles, eight boys and two girls, ranging in age from 12 – 16 years old, inside the room. The juveniles, all residents of various addresses in Lancaster City, were taken to the police station and their parents were contacted. They were all issued citations for Curfew and Trespassing and released to their parents. Hotel employees stated that they believe the juveniles entered the room by using a stolen room key.

6.28.12 Child Welfare

On June 27, 2012 at 8:38 p.m. Officer Chris Genetti responded to the 500 block of Second St. for a disturbance call. Off. Genetti located an adult female who was highly upset. The woman told Off. Genetti that her 4-month-old son was locked inside her apartment with the child’s father, Victor Luis Rivera, a 24-year-old male with no known address, who was supposed to be watching the child while the mother was at work. The woman had tried repeatedly but could not get the father to respond to the door. The child could be heard crying loudly inside the apartment. Off. Genetti could see that there was someone lying on a couch inside the living room, but despite repeated pounding on the door, the subject did not move. The child continued crying non-stop. A property manager was summoned and brought a key to unlock the apartment door. Officers located Rivera unconscious on the couch with the screaming infant on his lap. It took several attempts to awaken Rivera. Rivera appeared to be under the influence of some type of controlled substance and was lethargic, confused, had constricted pupils and had a slurred speech pattern.   

6.28.12 Stolen Car, Arrests

June 27, 2012 at 10:17 a.m. a city resident reported that her 1993 maroon Saturn coupe had been stolen from the 800 block of Second St. sometime overnight. At 11:43 a.m. a city resident called to report that while driving through the intersection of Chesapeake St. and Strawberry St., her vehicle was struck by a maroon Saturn that fled the scene. At 12:00 p.m., Trooper Travis Martin of the PA State Police observed a maroon Saturn coupe driving erratically through the Lancaster County Central Park. Trp. Martin executed a vehicle stop and approached the driver, identified as Lavern William Millisock, 20-year-old male, no known address. Millisock told Trp. Martin that the car was stolen. Trp. Martin observed that Millisock appeared to be intoxicated. Millisock was arrested and conveyed to LGH in order to obtain a blood sample for blood alcohol analysis. The front seat passenger in the stolen vehicle, Joshua Manuel Garcia, 20-year-old male, resident of Pacific Ave., Lancaster, was also taken into custody. Both subjects were later interviewed by members of the Lancaster City / County Auto Theft Unit, and it was determined that the stolen Saturn was involved in the earlier hit and run crash, and that Millisock was the driver of the Saturn at this time.

6.26.12 Charges filed in Hit & Run

Shortly after 1 pm on June 7th, 2012, Officer Michael Dean of the Lancaster City Police investigated a child struck by a vehicle in the 300 block of Ice Ave. A 5 year-old child crossing the street was struck by a blue Jeep. The occupants of the Jeep, a male driver and a pregnant female passenger, both got out of the vehicle and saw that the child was injured. Both occupants remained at the scene briefly and then got back in the vehicle and left.

6.21.12 Attempted Homicide Arrest 500 blk. W. Orange St.

On 20 June 2012, officers from the Lancaster City Bureau of Police were dispatched to 527 W. Orange Street, for an unknown type police call.   Officer Alberto Ruiz and Sergeant Richard Cosmore arrived on the scene and encountered the victim and several witnesses on the first floor.   The officers quickly learned that the victim, a 49 year old Lancaster woman, had been assaulted by her boyfriend in one of the building’s apartments.    The officers located the boyfriend, Richard CRUZ, in the apartment he shared with the victim.   After  speaking with CRUZ, the victim and the witnesses, Officer RUIZ and Sergeant Cosmore were able to take CRUZ into custody without incident.   CRUZ was then transported to the Lancaster City Police station.    The victim was transported to an area hospital, where she was treated a large contusion to the head, a strained neck and other injuries.    The victim was later released after being treated.  

6.18.12 Attempted Abduction W. Liberty St.

The Lancaster City Bureau of Police are investigating an attempted abduction, which occurred earlier today on 18 June 2012.   At approx. 12:44 PM, a 10 year old Lancaster female was riding her bicycle in the area of the 1st block of W. Liberty Street, when she was approached by an unknown Hispanic male.   The victim reported that the male asked her to come over to him and then tried to grab her.    The victim attempted to flee from the suspect, who began chasing after her.   The victim was able to elude the suspect and made it home safely, at which point her family contacted police.   The victim was not injured during the incident.    

6.17.12 Homicide - Brunswick Hotel

     Shortly after 2:00 am today, Lancaster City Police Officers were dispatched to the City Parking Garage at the Brunswick Hotel, located in the 1st Blk E. Chestnut St, for a report of a shooting.  It was reported that an individual had been shot in the chest on the second level of this parking garage.

6.15.12 Homicide Fugitive Arrest

     Shortly after 7:30 am today, the below Fugitive, who was wanted for Homicide out of Puerto Rico, was arrested at Garden Court Apartments in Lancaster City..

6.13.12 Sexual Abuse of Child

     On June 9, 2012 at 3:41 a.m., Harry Rodriguez-Colon, 35-year-old male, resident of the 1600 blk. Hossler Rd. Manheim, PA, walked into the lobby of the Lancaster City Police station. Rodriguez-Colon spoke to the desk sergeant, Sgt. Phil Berkheiser, and told Sgt. Berkheiser that he had been molesting a 14-year-old girl for the past six months. Rodriguez-Colon was accompanied by the mother of the victim, who had Rodriguez-Colon’s cell phone in her possession. The victim’s mother showed Sgt. Berkheiser a photograph of a nude female that was stored on Rodriguez-Colon’s phone. The victim’s mother told Sgt. Berkheiser that the female in this picture was her daughter. The victim’s mother stated that she had seen additional nude photographs of her daughter on Rodriguez-Colon’s phone.
