CRIME OF THE WEEK 12-38 Week of October 1st, 2012
On 1 October 2012, at 7:29 PM, officers were dispatched to 743 Beaver Street for a reported stabbing. Officers arrived at the scene and located a female victim, who was suffering from multiple stab wounds to the back and chest area. The victim, a 42-year-old Lancaster woman, was taken to an area hospital, where she underwent surgery for her injuries. The victim is currently listed in serious condition. During the course of the investigation, detectives interviewed several witnesses and collected evidence from the scene. Investigators learned that the victim’s ex-boyfriend came to the home on Beaver Street and confronted the victim inside the residence. Investigators learned that the ex-boyfriend then attacked the victim and stabbed her multiple times, before fleeing the residence. Investigators were able to identify the victim’s ex-boyfriend as Manuel Luis TORRES M/33, of Lancaster. As a result of this investigation, Detective Manuel Luciano has charged Manuel Luis TORRES with one count of Criminal Attempt at Criminal Homicide before Magisterial District Judge Cheryl Hartman. The Lancaster City Bureau of Police is seeking information on the whereabouts of Manuel Luis TORRES. He is described as being light skinned, approx. 5’11” tall, approx. 150 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes.
