SCAM  ALERT!
Over the last two hours we have had three simliar incidents: An unknown subject calls the victims on their cell phones. The suspect tells the victim they have a family member held hostage and demand they send money to them via a wire transfer. The suspect demands the victim stay on the phone with them while telling them how to get money and send it to them. At this time there is no relationship between the three victims. Amounts of money being demanded varies. This is a scam that has surfaced from time to time throughout the United States, and is a variation of a similar scam where the caller tells the victim a loved one was arrested or hospitalized and needs money immediately.
Reminders:
Never send money to people you haven't met in-person.
Never send money for an emergency situation without verifying that it’s a real emergency.
