12.27.2013 Shooting Investigation

27 December 2013 by Detective Sergeant Sonja Stebbins

On 27 December 2013, at approx. 3:13 AM, officers from the Lancaster City Bureau of Police were dispatched to a Local Hospital for a reported shooting victim (37 year old Lancaster resident) that was in the emergency room.  Officers learned from the victim that he was at a gas station at 653 Columbia Ave, Lancaster PA, in his vehicle about to leave when he was approached by an unknown male from an unknown vehicle. The preliminary investigation conducted thus far has determined that the unknown male may have attempted to rob the victim and as a result fired at least one shot, causing a non-life threatening gunshot wound.  The suspect then fled the scene.  The victim was treated and released.

Detectives are following up on leads as of this morning.
