01.08.2014 Shots Fired Investigation 200 blk. E. Clay St.

PRESS RELEASE 

On Tuesday January 7, 2014 at approximately 11:06pm Officers from the Lancaster Bureau of Police Platoon “A” responded to the area of the 200 blk. E. Clay St. The original information provided to dispatchers and Police was that a shooting had occurred. Upon arrival Officers were able to determine that no one had been shot or injured.

 

          Officers were told that (2) people witnessed what they believed to be a domestic disturbance. Those people intervened in the disturbance and chased a male toward the intersection of N. Lime St. and E. Clay St. A third party, known to the male who was chased, produced a handgun and fired at least (1) gunshot. The person that fired the shot left the scene in a vehicle. Officers were able to make contact with that person and he voluntarily came to the Police station to be interviewed.

 

  Officers and Investigators were able to locate and identify everyone involved in this incident. The handgun that was believed to have been fired in this incident has been recovered.

 

          Detectives are still conducting interviews and follow up investigation.  No charges have been filed at this time, as the investigation into this incident is continuing.  Names of those involved are not being released at this time. If any new information is obtained, a supplemental release will be issued.
