At 03:26 a.m., January 12, 2013 Officers Paul Blanchflower and Jay Hatfield responded to 402 W. King St. (Reveron Electronics) regarding a burglar alarm. Upon arrival officers noticed significant damage to the door, including pry marks. While waiting for an employee of the business to arrive, officers received a report of a burglary that had just occurred at 545 W. King St. (Su Pais Deli). Officers quickly responded to 545 W. King St. While enroute officers were given a description of a suspect seen in the area. Officers observed and stopped Shawn Deandru Jones, who matched the description, walking in the area. Officers heard a metal object hit the ground as they approached Jones. Officers located a metal pry bar that Jones had dropped. Jones was positively identified by a witness as the person seen breaking into the deli. It was discovered that the front door to the deli had been broken, and 14 packs of cigarettes and a small amount of cash had been stolen from the deli. Further investigation revealed that the pry marks on the door at Revron appeared to have been made by the pry bar Jones had possessed. Jones was arrested and charged with Burglary, Criminal Attempt Burglary, Possession of Instruments of Crime, and Theft By Unlawful Taking. Jones was comitted to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $50,000.00 bail. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.
