1.28.14 Shooting

On January 28, 2014, at 6:36 p.m. Lancaster City Police officers were dispatched to the 400 block of High Street for a report of shots fired.   While enroute to the scene, the responding officers were advised that someone had been shot.  When the officers arrived at the scene, they found a female victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment, where she underwent surgery and is currently listed in critical but stable condition. The victim has been identified as a 14-year-old female Lancaster City resident.   

Patrol officers immediately secured the crime scene and began speaking with potential witnesses. Detectives arrived on scene and conducted witness interviews and processed the crime scene for evidence. Detectives are continuing this investigation, which is in the very early stages. Additional witness interviews are on-going and investigators are also reviewing video footage from cameras located in the area.
