2.09.14 Shooting - Queen And James

On February 9, 2014, at approx. 2:17 PM, officers from the Lancaster City Bureau of Police were dispatched to Queen Street and James Street for a report of a shooting. While enroute to the scene, officers learned that a shooting victim had arrived by private vehicle at a local hospital. The dispatchers provided information to the officers that the suspect fled the scene prior to their arrival. The victim, who has been identified as a 24 year old Lancaster man. He was treated at the hospital and underwent surgery for a gunshot wound to the torso.    He is currently listed in serious, but stable condition.  

Investigators were contacted and began interviewing witnesses. Officers and detectives processed the crime scene for evidence. Detectives are continuing the investigation and following up on leads.   Detectives have learned that the incident was a result of an altercation between the victim and another male. The incident does not appear to be a random act of violence. Detectives are working to try to identify the male involved in the altercation.
