6.06.12 Shooting East End and Stevens

On 6 June 2012, at approx. 11:19 PM, Lancaster City Police officers were dispatched to the 600 block of East End Ave for a shooting.   While enroute, the officers were advised that there were two shooting victims at the scene.    Patrol officers from Platoon A responded to the area of East End Ave and Stevens Ave and located two victims, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.    Both victims were transported by EMS to an area hospital for treatment.   The one victim, a 37 year old Lancaster man, suffered apparent gunshot wounds to the torso and upper leg.   The second victim, also a 37 year old Lancaster man, suffered a minor head injury, which may have been a graze wound.   The second victim was treated for the minor head injury and was released.    He was arrested by City police on an unrelated, outstanding bench warrant and was transported to the Lancaster City Police station.  

Investigators have spent the night interviewing witnesses and processing the crime scene for evidence.   Based on the investigation thus far, investigators believe there may have been some sort of confrontation prior the shooting.   Police ask that anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Lancaster City Police at 735-3300.   Callers do not have to give their names to provide information.      

UPDATED INFORMATION ON ID OF SHOOTING VICTIM ARRESTED(7 June 12):

          Julio Figueroa-Matias, 37

          Homeless

     The above subject(2nd Shooting Victim) was arrested on an unrelated Outstanding Bench Warrant for a Parole Violation.  After being arrested and conveyed from the hospital to the Police Station, he was committed to Lancaster County Prison on this Bench Warrant.
