6.13.13 Homicide Investigation

On June 12, 2013, at approx. 10:15 PM, Officers from the Lancaster City Bureau of Police were dispatched to the 100 block of N. Pine Street for a report of shots fired.    While enroute to the scene, Lancaster Countywide Communications advised the responding officers of a shooting victim who was to be inside a vehicle in the 100 block of Nevin Street.  Officers responded to that location and located a male subject, who was unresponsive and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.    The victim was taken to Lancaster General Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead a short time later.    The victim is not being identified at this point, pending notification of the next of kin.  

Investigators responded to the scene and worked throughout the night conducting  interviews with witnesses.  Crime Scene Investigators were processing the crime scene and collecting evidence throughout the night.    The investigation is in the early stages and is on-going.
