7.13.12 Robbery arrest

16 July 2012 by Lt. Todd Umstead

At about 5:20 pm, Saturday, June 9th Officers of the Lancaster City Police were dispatched to the Kalimar Grocery Store, located at 520 S. Lime St, for the report of a Robbery that had just occurred.  After checking the area for the described suspect, Officer Michael Fisher spoke to the 33 year old female victim who was working in the store at the time of the Robbery and learned that the suspect approached the counter, threatened her with a knife and demanded money and cigarettes.  The suspect, who managed to escape with  only the cigarettes, was pepper sprayed by the victim prior to fleeing the store.

The investigation into this Robbery was assigned to Detective Kurt Miller, who was in the process of following up on several leads when, on the morning of July 12th, he learned that the victim had called Dispatchers, saying that she had seen the Robbery suspect again, walking in the area of the store.  A description of this suspect was broadcast over the radio and as a result, the suspect was subsequently stopped a short time later by Officer Michael Whitaker, shortly before 11:00 am, in the 200 Blk N. Lime St.  After confirming that this was the suspect whom this victim was referring to, the suspect was arrested and conveyed to the Police Station.  The suspect was identified as….

                   Mark Robert Felizzi II, 31

                   700 Blk S. Lime St.

                   Lancaster, Pa.

He was interviewed and charged by Detective Miller with Robbery(F-1) before Magisterial District Judge Richard Simms and held for arraignment.
