7.14.12 Shooting - N. Marshall St.

On 14 July 2012, at approx. 3:17 pm, officers from the Lancaster City Bureau of Police were dispatched to the area of Marshall Street, for a reported shooting.  Lancaster Countywide Communications advised the officers that the victim was reportedly going to an area hospital.   Within a few minutes, the victim arrived at a local hospital, with an apparent gunshot wound to the leg.   Officers and investigators began gathering information and attempting to locate the crime scene.    During the investigation, it was determined that the shooting was to have occurred in an alley, off of the 200 block N. Marshall Street.  

The victim, a 19 year old Lancaster man, reported that he was shot after an unknown male attempted to rob him at gunpoint.   The suspect was described as an unknown black or Hispanic male and was last seen fleeing the area, running west from the scene.   The victim was treated for his injuries, which were not considered life threatening.  

Investigators are continuing their investigation into this incident.   Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Lancaster City Bureau of Police at 735-3300.   Callers do not have to provide their names to give information.
