9.20.12 Indecent Assault Arrest-Antonio Ambert

On August 27th, 2012 the Lancaster City Police received information regarding an indecent assault involving a 12 year old female child and a 43 year old male suspect, which occurred on June 15th, 2012 on Fremont St. in Lancaster.  As a result of this information detectives with the Special Investigations Unit began an investigation. 

 

On Thursday, September 13th, 2012 as a result of the investigation Det. Lt. Jarrad Berkihiser obtained an arrest warrant for the following subject:

 

Antonio AMBERT  M/43

Last known address was the 300Blk S. Prince St. Lancaster, PA

 

Ambert was charged with Indecent Assault (M-1), Corruption of Minors (F-3), and Unlawful Contact with Minors (F-3) before MDJ Hartman.  During the investigation police learned that Ambert was working in a home on Fremont St. in the city.  Ambert was doing carpentry work and fixing or refurbishing areas or rooms of the home.  Because of the work he was doing he earned a certain level of trust from the child and the family.  The assault, which involved inappropriate touching, occurred while the child was in a third floor bedroom; while Ambert was working on the second floor; and while an adult family member was present in the home on the first floor.

 

The information that Ambert was wanted was released to Crime Stoppers and placed on Crime Stoppers posters.  As a result of the information being made public Crime Stoppers and the police began receiving information on the whereabouts of Ambert. 

 

On September 19th, 2012, about 2:00PM, Lancaster County-Wide Communications received a call about Ambert’s location.  Officers Hagen and Stroup were dispatched to the 1st Blk Conestoga St. where they located Ambert and took him into custody without incident.  Ambert was arraigned before MDJ Garrett that evening and committed to Lancaster County Prison after failing to post $25,000 bail. 

 

The Lancaster City Police would like to thank the public for their help in locating the wanted subject.
