Attempted Child Abduction

31 October 2012 by Lt. Todd Umstead

At 11:11 a.m. October 30, 2012 officers responded to the area of Manor St. and Old Dorwart St. for a possible attempted child abduction. A suspect described as a white male, unknown age, wearing glasses, described as balding on top with white hair on sides, approached a 10-year-old girl who was standing on the sidewalk near a corner store. The suspect began talking to the girl and asked her if she wanted to go with him. The child’s mother, who was standing nearby, verbally confronted the suspect, who then got into a navy blue Chevrolet TrailBlazer that was parked at the corner of Old Dorwart St. and Manor St. The suspect then drove away.

The attached photo is NOT the actual suspect vehicle, but is a stock photo of a Chevrolet TrailBlazer very similar to the described suspect vehicle.
