Lancaster City Police have arrested a second suspect in connection with a burglary that occured on January 22nd in the 300 blk. of Mill St. (see 1.26.13 Burglary Suspect Held at Gunpoint by Citizen). Building on information provided by witnesses and the victim, Det. Sgt. Gary Mackley contiinued this investigation and was able to identify a person who was possibly the suspect who fled the scene in a gold Honda. Det. Sgt. Mackley showed a photo array to witnesses who positively identified this individual, Gamalier Perez-Delgado, as the second subject involved in the burglary. Det. Sgt. Mackley obtained a warrant for Perez-Delgado, charging him with Burglary, Criminal Conspiracy, and Theft. Perez-Delgado was arrested without incident by Det. Sgt. Mackley and Det. Stan Roache at 12:10 p.m. yesterday at a private residence in Lebanon, PA. Perez-Delgado was later arraigned by MDJ Cheryl Hartman and was committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $25,000.00 bail.
At 11:34 p.m. last night, Jan. 28, 2013, Off. Jonathan Reppert stopped a red Mercury Mountaineer in the 800 block of Manor Street. The vehicle was displaying a stolen registration plate. Officers found that the passenger, Jerry Rodriguez-Sanchez, 22-year-old male, unknown address is wanted in Guayama, Puerto Rico for Homicide and related charges from a homicide that occurred in October 2012. Police officials in Puerto Rico were contacted and confirmed that Rodriguez-Sanchez was wanted and that they would extradite this subject. Rodriguez-Sanchez was charged by Off. Reppert with Fugitive from Justice before MDJ Cheryl Hartman. He is currently being held at the police station pending arraignment.
On Wednesday, 23 January 2013, Lancaster City Police Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Mill Street regarding a possible burglary in progress. Upon arrival it was determined a Lancaster City resident was holding the suspected burglar at gun point. The detained suspect was taken into custody.
Shortly after 3:00 am, Saturday, January 12th officers of the Lancaster City Police were dispatched to an address in 500 Blk E. Ross St for a report of an injured child, who was initially reported to have been injured as a result of a fall. The officers and ambulance personnel arrived, found the child (a 2-year-old female), in and out of consciousness and conveyed her to Lancaster General Hospital, where medical personnel attempted life saving procedures, but unfortunately the child succumbed to her injuries and was then pronounced dead at 4:18 am that morning. The child was identified as 2-year-9-month-old Ranasia Knight (DOB: 25 April 2010). At this time, bruising was observed to the child’s right orbital area and the child appeared to have an abnormally bloated abdomen.

UPDATED INFORMATION – Homicide Investigation, 248 W. Walnut St.
At 10:55 a.m., January 7, 2013, Lancaster City Police officers were dispatched to an apartment building on the south side of the 200 blk. W. Walnut St. for a “Check on the Welfare” call. First responding officers located a deceased adult male inside one of the apartments. It appeared that the victim had been deceased for a period of time. Criminal investigators and a Lancaster County Deputy Coroner responded to the scene. Based on initial findings at the scene, this death appears suspicious and is being investigated as a homicide. Detectives are working to determine the identity of the deceased. An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death. Lancaster City Police investigators are conducting a canvass of the surrounding neighborhood and following up on leads.
