ROBBERY ARREST

Arrested: Lisa Anne Ruoss W/F/32 500 blk, Manor St. Lancaster, PA

On Friday March 8, 2013 at approximately 0035 hrs. Officers from the Lancaster City Police Department, Platoon B, responded to the Gas Mart at 653 Columbia Ave. for a call of a Robbery in progress.

Upon arrival Officers found employees of the store holding a female, later identified as Lisa Ruoss, on the ground. During the investigation Officers were told that Ruoss had entered the store, brandished a box cutter and demanded money from the clerk. Ruoss attempted to get behind the register area. A struggle ensued and the clerk received a small laceration on one of his hands as a result of being cut by Ruoss. As others called 911, the clerk and another person were able to restrain Ruoss until Police arrived.

After her arrest, Ruoss was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation. While inside the emergency treatment area of the hospital, Ruoss managed to start a fire to a set of bed sheets. No one was injured as a result of the fire and it was quickly extinguished, but it did cause the halls of the hospital to be filled with smoke and did disrupt the treatment operations at the hospital.

As a result of the incident, Off. Reppert filed a Criminal Complaint before MDJ Roth against Ruoss. She was charged with Robbery and Risking or Causing a Catastrophe. Both are graded as Felony of the 2nd degree. As of the time of this release, Ruoss has not yet been arraigned. Details on bail are not available.
